HHH respects the daily life schedules and routines of the seniors we serve. Our long term care services scheduling is very flexible to fit in with the patients routines. We are available hourly or around the clock to assist with basic tasks at home. Our caregivers assist during the workday, in the evenings and on weekends and holidays. This means family caregivers know their loved ones are always supported in continuing to live independently.

HHH’s caregivers provide all levels of assistance with activities of daily living (basic ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (ADLs and IADLs) from stand-by help to the highest level of care. As your ability to preform ADLs independently changes, we will continue to work with you to create an individualized plan of care that promotes your independence in daily life and helps you to remain safe and comfortable during all essential daily tasks.

Are your caregivers prepared to handle medical emergencies should they arise?

While our professional caregivers are not medical professionals, they do receive appropriate training to handle medical emergencies that can arise in daily life. For most situations, this will involve calling 911. Additionally, Salus Homecare always has a staff member available to assist our caregivers with handling emergencies that may unexpectedly arise. Finally, consider that providing a senior with the right level of support with ADLs and IADLs can help to prevent accidents and slips or falls and prevent emergency situations.

What's the difference between daily living ADLs and daily living IADLs?

In the simplest of terms, ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) cover physical functioning like bathing, dressing, meeting your toileting needs, and safe mobility, while IADLs(Instrumental Activities of Daily Living) include tasks that are important for independence and comfort but don’t necessarily pose risk of immediate harm if not completed successfully. Examples of daily living IADLs include maintaining a home, managing finances and paying bills, and shopping or running errands. Many seniors receiving home care services benefit from support with both ADLs and IADLs.
